The 99-01 Black Limited Toyota 4Runner was offered in a two tone paint scheme. Black body with a oak/tan lower side clads, front and rear bumpers.
Since day one I never did like the two tone paint scheme and it was only a matter of time before I was going to drop the oak/tan color and have it painted black to match the rest of the truck.
Below are some pictures of the work in progress.
Here's a pic of what the 4Runner looked like from factory. Yuck.. the tan/oak color gotta go :) 
The body shop started by sanding down some of the oak/tan color of the pieces to be painted. 
Then the pieces were taken off to complete the sanding and prepping process. 
The entire side clads and running board were also removed for sanding and prepping. 
If you paid attention, you'll notice that the stock hood was no longer used. I ordered a hood scoop, which comes with the sport package 4Runner.
Does this look awsome or what? ;)
The hood can be ordered through your local Toyota dealer. The following parts are needed:

The main items (hood and scoop) come from factory in a primered flat black, so will need to arrange to have it painted to match your color.
Shooting the paint to match your truck can run up to $500.
TRD Chrome License Plate Frames
Toy-1675 A set of this were ordered from www.toyotaguys.com They are chrome red/black lettering. 
One other thing that bothered me was the grey trim pieces behind the license plate. This piece comes in dark grey on all 3rd (96-01) Generation 4Runners.
While the truck was at the body shop, I had them paint this piece black. This looks so much better!! What do you think? 
Another item that was added during the surgery was the TRD Decals. This are the ones that come from factory on the Tacoma and Tundra. You should be able to get them at any Toyota parts departement for around $50 for the set.
They are offered in (2) color schemes:
Grey and Charcoal PT211-TT980-28
Black and Red PT211-TT980-02 Replaced the factory 99 taillights with the 01-02 model. This are direct replacements and these freshen up the back end.
The part number for this are 81550-35240 and 81560-35200. This come with their own wiring harness.
You need partially undo the cargo plastic liners to access the connector for the wiring harness. This should be 30-45 minute job :)
01-02 Sport Edition Black Grill & Emblem
53111-35390-CO (Grill) / 75311-60090 (Chrome Emblem)
Pictures will be posted shortly, the current Grill and Emblem shown on my homepage picture go with the 99-00 Toyota 4Runner.
Basically all of the 96-02 Grills are interchangable, however a different emblem is used on the 96-98, 99-00 & 01-02. ARB Sahara Bumper,Warn HS9500 winch & Master Pull Synthetic winch line

Mudflaps
ARB logo mudflaps. This bolted right up to existing holes and screws. I will be replacing the screws with longer version to compensate for the thickness of the mudflap.
Best looking flaps that I've seen.. :)
